El Gamma Penumbra Pinoy Got Talent

Have you guys ever seen this video? I'm really not a fan of Pilipinas Got Talent but this one caught my eye. I saw this performance of my officemate's facebook account Kuya Alvin and got curious on what he put in the caption..."I keep on getting goosebumps whenever I see this performance". So I checked on the link and found this video very touching. I am really proud to be a Filipino. It's a grand finals performance done by a group named El Gamma Penumbra from Batangas. It's very entertaining and very touching as they interpret the song of "Piliin Mo ang Pilipinas" by Angeline Quinto. It's not easy to do a silhouette dance and create images to interpret the song. I love it! I hope they get discovered and have more performances that would promote our island Philippines. Mabuhay!

Here's the performance I've been talking about...enjoy!

Bamboo Members Reform Without the Main Man

Early this year, Bamboo Mañalac announced the band’s breakup which broke their fans’ hearts and was a shocker in the country’s music industry for they have been one of the favorite and most-followed bands. I still have no clue on why they decided to call it quits, but I am excited to know that three of the band members are back with a new band and they are now called Hijo, a kung-fu rock band.

The band first spread the news via Facebook and through word-of-mouth to common friends. Composed of ex-Bamboo members Nathan Azarcon, now on vocals and bass, Vic Mercado on drums, Ira Cruz on guitar and back-up vocals, Radioactive Sago Project’s Junji Lerma on guitars, and Brown Flava’s Jay-O Orduña on keyboard, the group is set to take Manila by storm.

These guys are still at that phase of testing the waters but they already appealed to many. This does not surprise me, though, considering the exceptional talent that each of the member has, especially now that they have joined forces. Watch out for their first-ever album.

American Idol, Haley Reinhart Eliminated

I was shocked after it was announced that Haley Reinhart was eliminated from AI, but I am sure no one would have been more surprised than Reinhart herself after learning that she was no longer in the run towards becoming the next American Idol.

Reinhart was the last to stay in the competition among the finalists I had rooted for this season. She had been in the bottom three a couple of times, yes, but had always managed to make a comeback, astounding the judges and the viewers worldwide with her vocals that got better and better every week. She even had a nasty spill on one of her final performances, yet the judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson, as well as guest Mentor Beyonce, applauded her, so the result was something I had not expected.

The American Idol hopeful still appeared strong after she was voted off, even telling her fans that it was only the beginning, and I agree. I am pretty sure we will see more of Reinhart and hear more of her mad vocals in the coming days.
