Bamboo Members Reform Without the Main Man

Early this year, Bamboo Mañalac announced the band’s breakup which broke their fans’ hearts and was a shocker in the country’s music industry for they have been one of the favorite and most-followed bands. I still have no clue on why they decided to call it quits, but I am excited to know that three of the band members are back with a new band and they are now called Hijo, a kung-fu rock band.

The band first spread the news via Facebook and through word-of-mouth to common friends. Composed of ex-Bamboo members Nathan Azarcon, now on vocals and bass, Vic Mercado on drums, Ira Cruz on guitar and back-up vocals, Radioactive Sago Project’s Junji Lerma on guitars, and Brown Flava’s Jay-O Orduña on keyboard, the group is set to take Manila by storm.

These guys are still at that phase of testing the waters but they already appealed to many. This does not surprise me, though, considering the exceptional talent that each of the member has, especially now that they have joined forces. Watch out for their first-ever album.
